All-Party Group meeting on the priorities for the creative industries post-Brexit

On 2nd November 2016, the APPG for Intellectual Property and APPG for Publishing held a joint meeting to investigate the priorities for the creative industries post-Brexit, along with the challenges and opportunities which they now face.Pete Wishart MP chaired the meeting and was joined by the Rt Hon John Whittingdale OBE MP, Baroness Rebuck and Lord Clement-Jones.

All-Party Group meeting on the Digital Single Market

The All-Party Group for Intellectual Property held a meeting on the Digital Single Market, with Rt Hon John Whittingdale OBE MP, Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport; and Baroness Neville-Rolfe, DBE CMG, Minister for Intellectual Property.

It was a public meeting and was chaired by Pete Wishart, Chair of the Group. Other members of the Group, Jim Dowd, Lord Clement-Jones, Andrew Bingham and David Warburton also attended.

Brussels Visit

In September, the All Party Group for Intellectual Property visited Brussels to discuss the European Commission’s proposals to deliver a Digital Single Market. Following on from this, please find below a link to the report on the Group’s findings and conclusions.

Get it Right from a Genuine Site

On October 19th , the Group held a meeting to coincide with the launch of ‘Get it Right from a Genuine Site’ a new cross-industry campaign designed to champion creativity. Marianne Grant from the Motion Picture Association and Ian Moss from the BPI provided a presentation on details of the campaign including a new campaign advert and details of other elements to the campaign.
